Author: P.C. and Kristin Cast Date Started: 02/13/09 Date Finished: 03/09/09 Genre: supernatural New or Re-read: new Reactions: O.o ok, weirdness on the Native Indian "magic" front. Really odd. Doesn't exactly fit into the story in my opinion (this coming from a girl who has a drop or so of Indian in her). I'm liking this book so far. The language in this book is so not needed >< *chuckles* this story is reminding me of the movie Mists of Avalon. It's really odd and interesting at the same time. *sigh* this book is on hold until I can get it again. I got it! Silver's library had it XD. Wee! So I have it again and I'll be reading it This book is so interesting. It's different from the rest of vamp books. Nearing the halfway mark. And now here is where we start getting the romance in here -.-. It's still a good book. But seriously, romance isn't needed in ALL vampire novels. And that's my personal opinion. Half way point. Ok, Aphrodite can take her self centered happy self and shove it . She's a jerk and a pain in the neck! Yeah her ex boyfriend is dumb. Forget some smarts. . . he is an idiot XD. Ooooh, -.- she is drinking the poor guy's blood. Good job, Zoey. Freak out your ex boyfriend AND your former best friend. I'm liking Erik, he's an interesting guy. And a sweet one. I'm just hoping that they won't turn this into something bad as it goes on -.- A Quarter of the way from the end! I can do this! It's a good story, just a little odd at some points, some cursing, but still good. Hmm, she gets take over Aphrodite's job! YES! WHOOHOO! Ahem More world occultish stuff O.o, whoa, oddness. 50 pages left. It's pretty good, just a little odd in places. Whoa awesome! She got her mark added to! Wee! All in all I liked this book
Author: Scott Westerfeld Date Started: 02/08/09 Date Finished: 02/13/09 Genre: scifi New or Re-read: New Reactions: I like this one already. I like how the writer shows how Rex is coping with how he was turned into a Darkling. Rex is still awesome. But I really love Dess. And I hope that she gets someone to love her eventually ^^. So far this is one of the few Sci Fi books that I actually enjoy. It's not that I don't like Sci Fi it's that I can't write it, so I sometimes I feel like I don't understand how it works. It's interesting how the Blue time came around 9. Apparently there's something about reality and blue time breaking down. It's so odd and yet awesome. Hmmm. Nice how the Darklings were celebrating over the fact that the blue was going to be coming more frequently. I wonder if the midnighters can save the town . This is going to prove a fun book 300 pages to go . Wee! ^^. 108 pages until the halfway point . I'm having fun with this. *snickers* Melissa: they're slowing down. Wimps." Dess: Mpt everyone enjoys the subtle pleasures of flying through a windshield, Melissa. Melissa remembers her trip through the windshield when she was trying to save Rex. lucky she only ended up with a concussion. *snickers again* Great >< Rex is an idiot. I swear. The moment he takes human blood he's gonna so beat himself up! Cassie *hugs her* poor girl, she's been missing for 15 hours . Poor thing. She musta been frightened. Interesting, the woman from the second book is returning (a woman named Angie). Whoa, nice thinking Rex. He wants to go and talk to the Darklings to see if they'll tell him anything that he needs to know. Hmmm, this is getting interesting by the second. I wonder what's going to happen next. *chuckles* wow, things don't go as planned . They had it planned out so that they could pull her into the blue time and then they found out that the Greyfoots had followed here. And here Rex thought that Jon and Dess were doing their job . heeheehee! Halfway through this book. It's good, very good. More excitement and danger in this book than the other ones . Me love it! *snickers* Melissa just now found out what happened to her poor car. nice flat tires . Heehee. Oooh, Rex talked to the old ones. This outta be good. I wonder how this story is gonna end. He might have to talk from the old lady from book two. I was right. They had to talk to the old lady from book two. O.O wow, I would have never have thought that Melissa would turn against her own kind (Mindcaster). O.O SQUEAK! Rex killed the old lady O.O. Oooh, they have to stop the Darklings . This is exciting! *shaking head* I still think that the romance is outta place. It's the end of the world and she just kisses him. O.o why? As Shan just reminded me final kiss . Last time to get the smoochies in! *giggling!* Jon: he's got another minute. Dess: another minute to live Jon: not really. Either rex gets here on time and you don't kill him or he's late in which case means he won't be here so you CAN'T kill him. either way he has more than one minute to live *chuckles* Melissa has too much of a blast somtimes. 3/4 of the way through the book. I'm really enjoying this! It's exciting and interesting at the same time. I wonder how this is gonna end . It's been a pretty cool trilogy except for the subtle hints at evolution (*gag*) and the taking the Lord's name in vain (><). I find it pretty interesting though. 100 words til the end O.O *bouncing up and down* wow! O.O. 60 pages to go! This is just exciting beyond words. There is something that Jessica has to do with the lightning. but what? O.O *curious*. AHA! She can close the rip with the lightning. That's why they were after her in the other two books! O.O WOW! yikes O.O. Rex isn't liked by the darklings OR the midnighters of the past ><. Poor dude! 20 pages to go! Jessica was fading? O.O WHAT IN THE WORLD? *reads on* *trembles* Jessica is stuck in the blue time! What a terrible ending to the series
Author: Scott Westerfeld Date Started: 02/06/09 Date Finished: 02/08/09 Genre: Sci Fi New or Re-read: New Reactions: This book picks right up where the first one left off. There's no waiting to try and figure out what had happened last. How many years have gone by. How old she is to how old she used to be, etc. It's very nice. Melissa is being a total jerk in this book now ><. I have a feeling she has a crush on Rex but she's so messed up in the head she probably will never tell him. (Idiot) ><. I wanna poke her and shove her into a little tiny hole now! Hmm, how could someone know about the Blue Time? O.o isn't it a secret? Unless these people are working for the Darklings. Which would be my first guess. They can't walk in normal time so they need humans for work. O.O I think I know what happened to the midnighters when they disappeared from the world. The Darklings were turning them into darklings. Merging them into a Darkling so that they couldn't fight them anymore (like in Full Metal Alchemist!). And I think it all started 60 years ago! O.O Exciting O.O. I figured that the girl was a Seer. Which means that they'll be after Rex next. Poor dude. He's gonna need protection and have Jessica around him a lot. And Melissa wants him to have a poison ready in case someone goes after him. Very exciting! I love how much Jonathan eats It's funny to watch. Heehee . Course I never noticed that Jon didn't touch Jessica a lot in normal time until she mentioned it. Hmmm. I wonder why. Sometimes I don't understand what the point of the romance in this book is . Really. I see it in there and it sometimes seems a little out of place. Like it's not really supposed to be in there. Because this story is about the Midnighters, and there are four of them that actually have a person to like. But one is all alone. Which makes me think that there's gonna be someone for her to have in that last book. But still. . . it doesn't really fit in here I still like Dess. And I feel sorry for her at times. Since she seems to be the only Midnighter who didn't have life too good during the Blue Time. Poor girl. Having to learn everything all by herself. And from what I've read about her family; her dad doesn't really seem to care. *hugs her*. Aww *hugs her again* she;s hurt because they don't listen to her . Poor girl. Interesting. None of them have had training as Midnighters. Because the last ones who were, happened 60 years ago. Which makes me think that the one girl who was captured in the Darkling was kidnapped FROM 60 years ago back when she was a little kid. Oooh suspense. I'm wondering what the name was on the Envelope. And I'm wondering if Rex's dad used to be a midnighter and that's why he's on meds now. "Waiting for someone?" Beth asked. "Yes. . . you. To leave." I love sibling rivalry . It's funny to watch. Especially in books. If the author actually captures it right. Awww, poor Beth is worried about her sister. *hugs her* O.O The name on the envelope is the same last name as Jess' best friend. Constanza Greyfoot. Whoa. . . odd. The converstations with Beth and Jess are hilarious! I love it! Ok it's fun to see all of the stuff that they add together. There's a 13 pointed star, 39 flagstones heading up to the house, and 169 bricks to a fireplace per house. It keeps the darklings away from them. *blinking* there's an old woman that knew that Dess was coming. . . O.o. Perhaps another old timer Midnighter? Wee, suspension. Melissa is a jerk. Just because a teacher is doing his job and following orders she thinks that she has the right to call him names . *grr* I really hate that when people do that. It's just like my brother ><. half way through the book. I knew it! The old woman WAS a midnighter! She's a mindcaster oh, crap! Jess' little sister is doing her snooping again and she's probably gonna get Jess into trouble. phew, she didn't. Yay . This Book is proving more fun than the last one! The only thing that I really have to complain about these books is that they take the Lord's name in vain ><. That's one of my pet peeves in books . 100 pages to go! I'm really liking this story and how it keeps you on the edge of your seat ^^. I totally like it. I really like the grumpy old lady. But. . . she's really a planner and it sends bad shivers down my spine. She's a mindcaster and a darn good one too. It's really odd. Eeep! They got Rex O.O. Not good! Dess: we have to keep this a secret? Jessica: keep what a secret O.o Dess: HELLO! If I tell you it won't be a secret anymore! I love this book. It's brilliant and hilarious! 50 pages to go! OOOOH THE SUSPENSE KILLS! O.O Melissa got a concussion O.O WHAT ABOUT REX!? O.O NO! O.O He can't be one of them! No! *screams* NO NO NO NO NO! there has to be a way to reverse it! A way to stop it. Ok, if they let the other seer go, then there has to be a way to get Rex from them! without killing him. grr, it was that old woman's fault . They saved Rex . FINISHED . I love this book! Can't wait for the next one
Author: Scott Westerfeld Date Started: 01/22/09 Date Finished: 02/02/09 Genre: Sci Fi New or Re-read: new Reactions: currently I'm very interested in this book. It's a pretty good story so far. I like how this person combines Fantasy with Sci Fi. It's very interesting how the different characters react. I'm starting to piece a few things together about certain characters. Like who is who. I'm finding it interesting and enjoyable. I like how Jessica is slowly learning what she is. I love Melissa! She's probably the creepiest and the hardest to understand but she's awesome. She reminds me of Sarrasi at times. Like when Sarrasi just found out something disturbing about someone else with her powers and then she freaks out and sends out hints . I'm more interested in what the Slithers are and why they move in the "secret hour". It's awesomeness . I really like Jonathan's power as the Acrobat. With the funness of not having gravity effect you for an hour? . . . me like . Heehee. Darn it he got thrown into jail. And poor Jessica is having her dad chew her out for staying out past curfew *tsks* Oh nice, sneaking out to the snake pit. I hate snakes . This proves interesting. I really am loving this book. The whole story is intriguing and it's pulling me towards the next two books. And I really wanna buy them now 96 pages to go. I like this book. And I had a feeling the mindcaster could do stuff like this. I have a feeling that there are more than just four groups for midnighters. (The groups being: Seer, Mindcaster, Acrobat, and Polymath). I think that Jessica is a leader or something. It's pretty interesting. Uh. .. that was random O.o. Jessica just kissed Jonathan. O.o odd. I really love Dess and how her PoV is different from the rest of them. I love how this person writes the people and their PoVs. Through Rex's you see information everywhere. Through Dess' you see math everywhere. Through Melissa's you see what she thinks and what she feels from others. It's kinda fun . *laughing* Ok I love that line. She's in midnight time. And the compass won't point north. It just keeps on pointing at her. "Great, I'm the north pole now." hmmm. She can power up any clean metal and make it lighingy. *smirk* Me likes. yeah of course every guy would notice if a girl wore makeup . Ahh, she's the Flame bringer. Wooooooooow. . *giggle* Cool! she can use electronics in midnight time! That's just awesome! Makes sense why the darklings hated her now. Because she was the one that could bring light to their world. And that = pain for them . And Jess is the only one that can stand the light. Even the midnighters can't. Ooooh! I loved thsi book to pieces. I can't wait to read the second one! I am SO buying these books when I have the chance
Author: Lemony Snicket Date Started: 01/20/29 Date Finished: 01/22/09 Genre: erm fiction New or Re-read: re-read Reactions: I'm halfway through this book and I really enjoy it. I love the funness of the book even though it's a little odd. But it's cute and just my style. Out of all of the characters I like Violet the best. Finished. For a first book it's not too bad. It's extremely weird but enjoyable. I love this entire series! Must read through all of them. I still haven't finished book 13
Author: Cat Weatherill Date Started: 01/16/09 Date Finished: 01/19/09 Genre: fantasy New or Re-read: new Reactions: I dunno when I placed it on hold, but it's a story based on the Pied Piper of Hamliene. It's an interesting story so far. the chapters are really short and it helps when you know what the original story is to understand this book. They're calling the Pied Piper a werewolf. It's very interesting so far. And I bet that I can finish this all today . UGH! The one thing I really hate in this book >.< they put in "action signals." This is a book, not a comic. You don't need to put: The arrow flew: fwoooo. It's ok, once in a while, but seriously! Not ALL the time! Wow, I'm feeling sorry for the pied piper . I like how they're doing this story. Then again, I always did love stories that were remakes of nursery rhymes/fairy tales . I wonder if the chosen one is going to be Jakob. Poor werewolf Pied Piper . *hugs him* Oooooooooooooooh, they're gonna tell us about his taking care of the rats and kidnapping the kids from the fairy tale! And there go the rats. The writer is saying that the Pied Piper is half elven and that he has magic. That's why the rats and kids followed him. They moved from one of the kids who was kidnapped to the Piper. And now they're on the one kid that had been left behind. I like this! *grins* Jakob (the boy) was healed he can walk. And he got into the hill! More in Marianna's POV ^^. She's a fox and it's sounding very interesting. Heehee. I KNEW IT! I knew that her mom had to be an elf! 100 pages to go! This book is so much fun to read! *grins* a Wishing Well. And He's gonna try and turn Marianna back into a human . Wee! He did it . 40 pages near the end. The piper's curse was lifted! I love this story! FINISHED! This story is very cute. And the boy who got the curse was turned into a wolf instead of a beast because he wasn't like the piper. Such a cool story.
Author: J. K. Rowling Date Started: 01/03/09 Date Finished: 1/11/09 Genre: Fantasy New or Re-read: re-read Reactions: Eowyn and I are reading the HP books all over again *chuckles* I love how Mr. Dursley freaks out just because he's hugged by a complete stranger. How he's denying that these things could be happening. The writing is a little toned down and to be quite honest boring because she has SSS (Same Sentance Structures) You have to do a lot to get into the story. That's part of the reason why I like her newer writings better. I like Mcgonagal's cat form And how Mrs. Rowling shows that she has spectecles even though she's no longer in human form. "What's their son's name again? Harold?" "Harry, a nasty common name." Not common where I come from . Ok that is the stupidest and most weird name for anything I've ever heard. A "Put-outer" O.o what in the world!? >.< couldn't she have thought up a more original name than that? Seriously . It's not that hard to be original people . (note all of this is just in the first chapter that I'm making fu--I mean commenting on) I like Dumbledore and I really don't care what the rumors say. He's a pain in the butt and kinda funny . "It's lucky it's dark, I haven't blushed since Madame Pomfry told me she liked my new earmuffs." WEE! First mention of Serius Black I love Serius. End of chapter one. I like how the first chapter ends. Duddly Dursley is a waste of skin . He's spoiled rotten, a brat, and just a total jerk. And he just grows worse with each book >.< Dude needs a reality check if he's gonna make it in the world. If you really want to know my opinion on Harry, I don't like him as a main character. He's uhm. . . not really believable. He was better in the movie. J.K.Rowling isn't that good a writer. She has a plot and everything but this story screams that she doesn't know a think about writing yet. She has a lot of sentences in full caps and others that end with a double mark e.g. "!?". Besides my inner editor screaming that this book is filled with errors it's actually a good story. *chuckles* crazy old guy. Just gets freaked out over a few letters. I like how she shows Mr. Dursley acting all crazy just because of the letters. Hagrid! I love Hagrid! He's so much fun and cool! He just rocks half giant . Wow, he just throws it out there saying that Harry is a wizard outta the blue! Just smart. Hagrid's coat is interesting. I would never want to wear it. Almost halfway. He's been sorted . Wow, Snape. *monotone voice* I am Snape, the potions master. He is a really creepy character. But the actor who did him was brilliant! 80 pages to go! I love the Quidditch matches . The game is all in all fun sounding FINISHED! This book, although my inner editor screams HELP!, is pretty good. It's a good start to the series but I think that it got better as it moved on.
Author: Anne Rice Date Started: 01/02/09 Date Finished: 01/19/09 Genre: supernatural New or Re-read: new Reactions: I'm partway through it. And I'm really liking it so far. I like how Miss Rice shows the olden days and how she writes it through the vampire's eyes in an interview. But I have one question. . . why are most of the vampire stories set in Lousianna I love Louis. He has a very good personality. I like how calm and gentle he is even though he's a vampire. Lestat on the other hand . He can rot and die Oooh, Claudia appears I am loving this story. Claudia is so cute. But it's just so sad that she'll never grow up . I love how Anne Rice is showing her. That she's still a child but her mind is older. And now Claudia has found out that she's not human. It's not going well "Death of Lestat!" YAY WHOOHOO! Halfway through the book. Must read faster. I reallly like this story. It's interesting. Claudia is a bit of a pain sometimes. She's really interesting and all, but other times it's like she's so comptomplative or scary. In europe! Wee! Europe . They're seeking out vampires Hmmm, according to Louis' discription. . . what they found were zombies. Instead of vampires. Very interesting. I like how she's showing this. The meeting of Armand! I love how they showed it. They showed it brilliantly in the movie. But I think that Armand was the weirdo that was acting like Louis' mirror. And they didn't show that in the movie O.o. Hmm. Really cool though 100 pages near the end. The play at the theatre. They showed it really well in the movie. The book is really interesting. I feel so bad for the girl on stage who died . Aha! I see. It was Santiago not Armand. Interesting. . . she has a christianic view about the world in this book. That God made the world and that he made Satan too. It's interesting. I don't know if God exists. For all I know, He doesn't. It's interesting that came from a vampire. He believes that God created the world and everything in it. Just not that God Exists. How odd. I really like Armand ^^. Finished. I loved this book. It was amazing and I am looking forward to the next book .
Date Started: 01/02/09 Date Finished: 01/04/09 Genre: erm, scifi/supernatural/horror New or Re-read: re-read Reactions: I read half of it in 2008 before the new year started. And so far it's being interesting. It's not exactly good but so far it's been better than Darkfever. About a quarter of the way from the end. I've been surprised, this one is cleaning and so far I haven't really found anything that isn't too innapropriate. But we'll see there's still many pages from the end to go. Barrons rocks! He's so cool and interesting. 100 pages to go. I like how she's reviewing the people on the board. And if I had a choice between her three people (V'lane (the fae that made all of the bad moments in the first book ), Rowena (really mean old lady that thinks that she can control the Sidhe-seers), and Jericho Barrons (Mysterious and really weird old dude that curses mosto f the time)) I'd choose Barrons. 50 pages to go. I didn't think that the vampire from the first book was dead. And I was right >.< He's trying to kill Mac. Fight, Mac, fight! I don't like her for a main character, I actually prefer Barrons out of all of the characters. V'lane can rot . And I heard a rumor that Barrons is gonna be the MC for Dreamfever (book 4 ) ahem Whoa, never thought that she'd be one to eat a dark fae. . . eeeeeeeeew >.<. I like her dad's saying: You can't run forward while looking backwards. You run into walls that way. Oooh! she's gonna kill Maluce . >.< the statement that Barrons made about emotions isn't true. Emotions do have a use, sometimes you don't see what the use is. But there's always a use for them! awww, Barrons had to kill the vamp. Well fake vamp. And then he just leaves with Mac like nothing happened. That was the shortest chapter of my life O.O. It was a total of 2 pages O.O. Talk about short O.O. Oh man! She lost the power to sense Objects of Power Not good. Not smart either >.< Oh wow. . . it was only temporary O.O interesting. Ok Barrons was smart putting the tattoo on her . It probably saved her life. 16 pages from the end . I like this one waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the first one. And I do mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. FINISHED! WAY BETTER!
